The case of wanderlust

Again we’re talking about travel because what else can you do when stuck at home staring at a screen for 16+ hours a day.

This time it’s different, I swear.

Spending so much time thinking of what could be, instead of looking at what there is, here and now. The hikes have started and we’ve been slowly accumulating bags, gear, and other items to support a day trek outdoors.

With little experience in hikes longer than 4 hours, we have a ways to go before attempting an overnight hike or even multi-day hike. We’ve acquired 2L hydration bladders and are slowly loading up on additional outdoor gear. Got a solar panel, never used one before.. I should try it out before taking it along.

I’ve been thinking of why we photograph things. So far I can only come up with one reason, and it’s to document what is here today. With plants and animals slowly disappearing, we must do our best to preserve something for the future viewers to see. Who knows if today’s social media will be around tomorrow..
